Crowns
In its most basic sense, a Crown is a restoration that is placed over the affected tooth to amend its shape, size or strength. They cap or completely cover a tooth and may be used for aesthetic or functional reasons.
Patients may require a Crown for a number of different reasons. Beneficial to cracked, broken, decayed or diseased teeth, Porcelain Crowns are a safe and effective dental restoration.
For many years, traditional metal-based Crowns have been used to strengthen or rebuild teeth. Today, thanks to the latest advancements in Cosmetic Dentistry, Porcelain Crowns are now an effective aesthetically pleasing option. Porcelain Crowns may be made to match the exact colour, texture and translucency as your natural teeth. They look and feel so natural and no one will even know you have them!
Bridges
The purpose of Bridgework is to restore the health & appearance of your smile after tooth loss.
A Bridge is essentially a device anchored to surrounding teeth that replaces one or more existing teeth. When a lost tooth is replaced with cemented bridgework, the teeth on either side of the missing one must be prepared as Crowns to serve as abutments, to hold the bridge in place.
Bridges are a long term solution which can help prevent the cycle of problems that occur when just one tooth is missing, such as shifting and drifting of remaining teeth, decay and periodontal bone loss.
This treatment will restore lost teeth, support remaining teeth and help keep teeth in proper position and proper bite.
