Dr. Makepeace is the Principal Dentist at Distinctive Dental Care and has been practising dentistry for over 26 years.

Philip graduated from the University of Queensland in 1982. After spending 1983 as the first ever School Dentist in the remote Far-North Queensland Gulf of Carpentaria region, he spent a further 3 years working for the Queensland School Dental Service in Bundaberg before commencing Private General Dental Practice in Bundaberg in 1987. He spent the next 7 years at the (now demolished) dental practice on Olsen’s Corner (with branch practices in Mundubbera and Gayndah) before relocating to Heidke Street near Sugarland Shopping Centre.

Now after 15 years in the Heidke Street practice (which came to be known as “New Image Dental”), Philip has started a new venture with Distinctive Dental Care and Bundaberg Dental Implant Centre. Distinctive Dental Care is a purpose-built practice facility at 123 Bargara Rd, Bundaberg. Providing personalised service, a complete range of dental treatments and the highest level of care, Distinctive Dental Care is a unique dental experience where our patients are our focus.

Philip regularly attends continuing education courses in Full Mouth Reconstruction, Dental Implants, Bone and soft-tissue Grafting and Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry. Philip has been surgically placing Dental Implants and providing comprehensive Dental Implant treatment since 1997. He is a member of:

• Australian Dental Association
• Nobel Biocare NobelSmile

In his spare time, Philip loves spending time with his wife, young children and new born baby. He enjoys flying light aircraft, reading, snow-skiing, good food and wine. He has his pilots licence and recently sold his plane (a four seater Piper Arrow) as his family has expanded to five and no longer fits. He and his son also enjoy playing golf together
